Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA)

Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA) program is designed to equip candidates with the requisite technical understanding and professional skills on accountancy for international Islamic banks and financial institutions.   Through the CIPA program, candidates will gain advanced knowledge on:

  • Objectives and concepts of financial accounting for international Islamic banks and financial institutions.

  • Accounting rules and treatments for international Islamic banking and finance transactions.

  • General presentation and disclosure for financial statements of international Islamic banks and financial institutions.

  • Application of Shari’a for international Islamic banking and finance products and services.

  • Effective governance and Shari’a compliance structures in international Islamic banks and financial institutions.

Program content:
CIPA program covers technical subjects that are essential to accountancy for international Islamic banks and financial institutions, including:
-
Development of international Islamic banking and financial systems, and functions of Islamic banks and financial institutions.
- Accounting concepts and principles for international Islamic banking and finance.
- Qualitative characteristics of accounting information for international Islamic banking and finance.
- AAOIFI’s accounting standards on financial reporting for the international Islamic banking and finance industry.
- AAOIFI’s Shari'a standards on Islamic finance products and practices, and Shari’a basis for those standards.
- AAOIFI’s Governance standards on Shari’a compliance and review processes.

Fees Structure
Since AAOIFI is a not-for-profit organization, the fee structure is designed to accommodate and allow participation from a broader base of industry practitioners. The fee structure allows the candidate to choose from the following two options :

 

 New intake
 Option 1*
 (Registration + Study materials + Training + Examination)
 USD 2,750 
 Option 2*
 (Registration + Study materials + Examination)
 USD 1,950 

The preferential rates for next intake for CIPA and CSAA are given only for candidates who have not previously registered.  Therefore, the preferential rates are not made available to candidates who have already registered for 31 March exam or have postponed their exam
